Hi...How long do you expect this winning streak to last? I signed up...and I
can't believe my eyes...Not a single losing day yet! Are we going to go
31-0...? Many, many thanks! - K. S.
Easy does it...Just like everybody else, we
have winning streaks as well as losing streaks. We've had 6 straight winning
days. The trouble is, there is no way to know when you're "in" a winning
streak. That's a common fallacy. In reality, you can only know when you've
just "had" a winning streak. We can only be confident in the fact that we
have the equivalent of a 55+% expectation each day, no matter what happened
the day before. Please stick to your money management plan. Don't get
overconfident. We're up more than 10 units for those 6 days, but we never
know when that first losing day will jump out of the weeds and bite us. Keep
your bets level. - J. R.

Congratulations on beating the NFL preseason. I really didn't think anybody
could do it. - James T.
Thanks for noticing. Preseason games can be
beaten so long as one understands what the determining factors figure to be.
Those determining factors are not the same as those in a regular season NFL
game. One example: the primary goal of an NFL coach during preseason is not
necessarily to win the game; his primary goal is to get ready to win in the
regular season.

I
wanted to tell you that your book that I bought last year really put me on
the right track. Learning how to study properly, managing my money, etc.
I was in a pool last year (of straight picks, no spreads) and I won it
with 172 correct picks, winning a little over $1000.00.
And my spread betting last year was also productive.
This past weekend so far I am 7 for 7.
Of course I realize, as you teach, there are ups and downs and again
because of you I've approached this with an educated mind and objectivity.
Thanks. - Bugsy
I wish WE had a winning record last weekend. We
went 6-8-1 in the NFL last week. Thanks for the note..... - J. R.

...I
subscribed to your newsletter 4 days ago and you're 17-7-1...Many
thanks!...What's the longest winning streak you've ever had?.....R.K.
In
our newsletter we
won 24 winners in a row in January, 2006. It included NFL, NBA and NHL bets.
My "best" winning streak was in 1997. I had 16 plays against the NFL, but I
didn't want to risk 16 units at one time, so I grouped the 16 plays into
eight 2-bet parlays. Some of the bets were simple risk-11-to-win-10 plays
and some were moneyline plays. I was in Las Vegas and the 8 parlays were
spread around between the Mirage, the Stardust, and Caesar's Palace. I won
all 16 bets, all 8 parlays, just shy of 28 units. My brother, R.J., said,
"Now, let's go over to Lake
Mead and bet somebody you can walk across it."

.....You were on the Pistons (+4.0) tonight and they lost (at the Spurs)
108-76. You really suck..... Alfred
It's those close ones that hurt the worst (LOL).
The Detroit players simply failed to show up. Were they
hung over? Pissed with the coaches? Exhausted by a late party? Fighting
among themselves? Looking forward to theyr next opponent? Who knows. It
happens in all pro sports that a team sometimes simply takes the day off.
Did anyone expect them to lose by 32 points? - J. R.

Congratulations on going 8-0 today! I have learned enough about you to know
that you do not cheer about your winning days or cry about your losing days,
but you get up the next morning and do it all over again with the highest
level of integrity and professionalism. I want you to know how much I
respect that about you.
However I am going to take the liberty and cheer for you today and
praise you for the outstanding work that went into today's card. With a
sample size of 8 plays the RARITY of going 8-0 is 1 in 100, the TRUE ODDS of
an 8 team parlay going 8-0 is a giant payoff of 255 to 1...so forgive me if
I am a bit excited to say that you are GOOD you are really GOOD!
You my friend are truly an inspiration to the up and coming sports
investors, not only in your ability to share your knowledge regarding the
importance of money management, professional handicapping, but also showing
all of us the type of composure that is needed in order to become a part of
the elite 2 percent that success in this business.
Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing your wisdom with all
of us knowledge seekers. Respectfully, Gabriel N.
Wow.....Thanks, Gabriel.

Dear Sirs,
Many years ago I purchased all of Bob McCune's books and I also have a
copy of J.R. Miller's manual (How
Professional Gamblers Beat the Pro Football Pointspread).
Mr. Millers' manual is well written and is in the minority of handicapping
books today that actually teach you how to handicap in a logical and
professional manner. As you well know, 99% of the books available are
oriented to trends and past analysis that for the most part has little
bearing. I highly recommend (Mr. Miller's book) to beginners, intermediates,
or even seasoned betting individuals. I actually re-read this book every few
months and especially right before football begins every year. The Money
Management section is also good...I have been flat betting for over 10 years
and believe it is the most reliable and safe process to follow.
The section on "Key Numbers" and "Key Totals Numbers" is outstanding.
This is a strategic component of how I determine my wagers for both
Professional (NFL, CFL, Arena) and College football...
I use the same technique for basketball, looking for a difference of
3-6 points... For hockey, I typically wager on the teams that I have
predicted to win AND are getting a half puck (i.e., the underdog). I have
found over many years of betting hockey that laying a half a puck (i.e.,
about 40 cents) is tough to beat. I actually convert the puck line to a
money line. For example, +0.5-$1.35 is actually +$0.40-$1.35 or $105.
Another section that really helped me was the prediction of real
football scores. I must admit that prior to reading the book, I did not
convert my predicted scores to realistic football scores. I NOW DO!...I
believe it really helps...
Your website is a real pleasure and one of the very few that is not a
scam or touting some "lock" game. You have an excellent
Order Page
and the selection of articles are excellent. I imagine that over 90% of the
people betting sports today have no idea of realistic expectations. You
should be congratulated on a job well done and respected for posting your
record on a daily basis.
Since 1992 I have been doing subcontract work for Jerry Patterson.
Jerry is a blackjack professional and has written several books. I do not
play Table Games or BlackJack. However, I have been providing a basic
handicapping service to those clients of his who wish to wager on sports...
Do you have any plans for other manuals similar to the Football book?
(i.e., Basketball?)
...Once again, my compliments on your website. It is professional and
brings respect to the handicapping industry.

Thank you for the endorsements, Max. I suspect
you are probably as good a handicapper as me (or better), and I am always
flattered by compliments from knowledgeable players.
We do currently have a book in progress that spans how to handicap
basketball, baseball and hockey. Trouble is, the popularity of our own
newsletter,
along with writing articles and attending to the 'business' end of the
website, severely limits the time we have available to work on the book...

JR, I
never had more fun or more "success" since I been disciplined to formulated
money management. This is great, it's the way I run my business... Thanks
for the great service you and your crew provide. - J.A.
Thanks for the nice words. You're right about
sports betting being "great." Next to sex, it's the "funnest" thing I can
think of. - J. R.

Okay,
the Jets were +6.0 (against the Raiders, Monday night, and you took them on
the money line at +245. The Jets lost, 26-20, tying the point spread. You
lost. Wouldn't you get a higher win percentage if you stuck with the point
spreads? - L. W.
Sure, but it isn't about win percentages, it's
about profit. We thought the Jets offered better value at +245 than at +6.0
-110. Winning percentages are only incidental to the real goal, which is to
make money. Remember, it doesn't matter if you win 90% of your bets, if
you're laying 10-to-one odds, you'll lose money. It's all about the money. -

.....I have ordered two books from your site. Once I read those books and
get serious about sports handicapping I will definitely look into getting
your newsletter.....I have been

up the good work. Should be joining you within a year. Thanks again, -
Future Pro

Your
newsletter and website sounds "for real". I have been handicapping NHL for
several years using basic Statistical Analysis and minor situational events
to add or take away from my original scores...I don't have the time anymore
to do my comparisions... Could you please give some general insights into
how you come up with (your) base statisic analysis of NHL Games? Scores,
Shots accuracy comparision etc, road and home effects etc. Thanks -
John M
We use all the things you mention and more, -
shots, shots-per-goal, shots allowed, shots-allowed-per-goal-allowed,
injuries, travel effects, quality level of recent opponents, motivational
factors and penalties are the most important factors. We attach values to
the differences relative to the league as a whole. - J. R. Miller
///
.....Do
you think it's possible to make a living playing roulette if you have a
good betting plan?.... - Jerry S.
No.
Sorry, but I can guarantee that it is NOT possible.
There is no such thing as a professional roulette player.
.....That doesn't mean you should never play roulette (or craps, or
slots, bingo, etc.) If you treat casino games as entertainment and keep
your losses at a reasonable level, casino games can be great fun. They
sure beat watching re-runs of
"Scags
in the City." - J. R.
